Fashion gives in many ways. It can be entertaining, it makes us feel good and of course it makes us look good, but how about fashion for a cause. This year Fashion Gala Events is teaming up with non-profit Girls Inc. of Omaha. to bring us a night of fashion and shopping. Money raised will go towards future fashion scholarships, fashion camps and workshops that will be available for the students of Girls Inc. First opened in 1975 under the name Girls Club, Girls Inc. has been serving and supporting the girls of Omaha with love, education and encouragement. Now with two centers, one located in North Omaha and the other in South Omaha, Girls Inc. is devoted to girls ages 5 to 18 offering support, transportation, healthy meals and snacks, computer access along with a wide range of programs from art to robotics.
To help support Girls Inc. and the fashion arts in Omaha, the second annual Fashion Gala Event will be held at the Holland Performing Arts Center on November 11th from 8 to 10PM. Being that November 11th is Veterans day, this years show will also celebrate the men and woman who have given so much. Veteran Joe Trader will speak to attendees and share his story followed by a military inspired collection by Steve VanBuren.
Pre-show you can sip on cocktails and shop local vendors and prepare to see fashions that run the gamut from children's wear to the avant garde. Featured designers include Steve VanBuren, Wayne Vaughn, Chris McCullough, Caroline Williard, Yolanda Diaz, Miranda Hanson, Abbey Parodi, Aubrey Sookram, Elda Doamekpo and Dalton Taylor, hosted by Connor Rensch best known for her appearance in People Magazine and the Steve Harvey Show. Guests will also be entertained by live music and dancing provided by Omaha Ballroom. Stay till the end and shop the runway at an after show pop-up and head over to the Parliament downtown to celebrate another successful show.
